The New York Giants They are expected to have a new starting quarterback when they face off Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving.

After the Giants benched and then traded Daniel Jones last week, surprisingly called Tommy DeVito their starter. This was an unexpected move since Drew Lock had been an official the team's No. 2 quarterback behind Jones until Jones was benched. (Jones has since ended up with the Minnesota Vikings.)

Lock now appears ready to face the Cowboys after DeVito's struggles a forearm injury. DeVito did not practice on Wednesday and therefore will not fly with the team to Dallas ESPN's Adam Schefter.

That probably means Lock starts on Thanksgiving Day.

Lock, 28, was cracked by the Denver Broncos in the second round of the 2019 NFL draft from Missouri. As a starter, he achieved an 8-13 record in Denver before being traded to the Seattle Seahawks the Russell Wilson trade in 2022.

Lock served as Geno Smith's backup from 2022-23 and went 1-1 in two games as a backup starter last season. Thursday marks his first start with the Giants and his first start in a regular-season game since Dec. 18 of last year.
