- AEW International Champion Konosuke Takeshita on January 3, competing for promotion in Japan for the first time since July. He is also scheduled for NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 19 on January 4th and Wrestle Dynasty on January 5th.
- The Butcher (Andy Williams) about his AEW debut and writes that he loves everything the promotion allows him:
- Yesterday it was 5 years for me with @aew. I feel like I've lived 50 lives since then. Monocle, trouser sash, long hair, tassels, fat, tattered, bald, Malenko trunks, bunkhouse butch, white clothes, etc. Now I'm a gunman or something. I love what this company has enabled me to do.
- Chris Van Vliet that he never won a WWE Championship:
- No, not at all. My God, I'm grateful I didn't have to wear that too. You know, I was carrying around a 50, 60, 75 pound snake, and we were on the road for two, three weeks at a time, all your clothes, everything you have to wear, the last thing I want is a 10 – Pound belt to take with you. Would I have liked a championship? Yes, of course. You know, that would have been something, but I had had several championships by then. Maybe not [the] WWF Championship, but I've had several – Calgary, I've had it in Louisiana and the Mid-South. I had it in Texas. I've had it in various locations in the mid-Atlantic. So I had my time with the belts. I mean, everything was fine. I would have liked the money that came with that belt. But how can I complain about that? [the] What career did I have?
- In conversation with TV Insider Eric Bischoff from WCW Nitro's debut:
- My show 83 Weeks is a nostalgia show, so I always delve into the history of the Monday Night War with WWE and WCW and all the things that happened during that time. I live in this time. In this sense, this time was yesterday for me. The Mall of America when you say that was almost 30 years ago? I think, “No chance.” In many ways it seems like yesterday, but in other ways it feels like an eternity.
- Due to an injury sustained in training before the match, NJPW Young Lion Masatora Yasuda . His scheduled pre-show match against Daiki Nagai was removed from the card.
- Amazing red for GCW's show at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City on Sunday, January 19th.
- Josh Barnett vs. Royce Isaacs for GCW's Highest in the Room event on Saturday, December 14th in Los Angeles.
- Slam wrestling to wrestler/actor/stuntman Scott L. Schwartz, who passed away this week at the age of 65.
