Thanks to another game-changing mistake by NFL officials, the Vikings were even able to win.
Starting with 11:08 to play, the Cardinals drove from their 30-yard line to the Minnesota 5-yard line with 4:14 to play. On the first down, Vikings defensive lineman Jerry Tillery not only went into the neutral zone, but was also clearly offside before tight end Tip Reiman made the switch. However, Reiman was warned for the false start, which pushed the ball back to the 10. The correct call would have moved the ball to the 2.5-yard line, where a touchdown would have made it a two-point lead.
After an intentional grounding against Murray, the Cardinals extended their lead to 22-16 on a 23-yard field goal by Chad Ryland with 3:20 left.
Once again the Cardinals were doomed by big plays as Darnold hit Addison for 26 yards. There was a third-and-5 stop (the Vikings were 1-for-8 in the game), but the killer was a 12-yard play to Jefferson on fourth-and-5. Three snaps later, a 5-yard pass to running back Aaron Jones and the PAT provided the winning points.
