For all intents and purposes, the Cleveland Browns were in a shootout with the red-hot Denver Broncos thanks to Jameis Winston.
The Browns lived on Winston's arm and died on Winston's arm.
There was no better example of this than when Winston threw an interception for a touchdown that was immediately followed that ended with a touchdown to tight end David Njoku. In the end, however, Winston's three interceptions, two of which were returned as touchdowns, made the difference for Cleveland to the Broncos.
Winston threw for a massive 497 yards and four touchdowns. wide receiver Jerry Jeudy against his former team, rushing for 235 yards and a touchdown on nine catches from Winston. Elijah Moore also managed 111 yards on eight catches and Njoku added 52 yards on nine catches in addition to his aforementioned touchdowns.
Even Michael Woods II, who had 43 yards on three catches immediately after being released from the practice squad. However, those three interceptions stalled the Browns and gave the Broncos 14 points for which the defense was not responsible.
The Browns lived on Winston's arm and died on Winston's arm.
Unfortunately, at least Brown's football is fun again with receivers like Moore and Jeudy (now at pace for) playing ) experience their career behind Winston's arm. That won't change, and both players certainly have their advantages when they have a quarterback who is able to overcome pressure and find backside receivers.
He still has five games left to play as the Cleveland Browns' starting quarterback. The Browns may only win two more, but in the meantime at least the fireworks will go off.
They will live by Winston and die by Winston.
