Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami is playing competitive cricket again and joins Bengal'S Ranji Trophy game against Madhya Pradesh at the Holkar Stadium in Indore. However, he failed to make any significant impression on the first day.
Shami's team was sent in to bat first by Madhya Pradesh and Bengal were bowled out for 228, supported by Shahbaz Ahmed92 from 80 balls. When it was Shami's turn at the crease, he was threatened with an over and was dismissed for two runs.
When it came time to bowl, Shami bowled most of the overs for his team but failed to make a breakthrough in his ten overs. He bowled ten overs and conceded 34 runs with a first over.

Shami suffered an ankle injury during the final match of the 2023 ODI World Cup, which required surgery and a prolonged absence from the sport.
Due to the injury, the 33-year-old fast bowler had to undergo an extensive rehabilitation program.
Shami diligently focused on his recovery National cricket Academy (NCA) based in Bengaluru.

“360 days is a long, long time!! All ready for the Ranji Trophy. Now back on the home stage with the same passion and energy. A big thank you to all my fans for your endless love, support and motivation – let's make it happen. “Season unforgettable!” wrote the 33-year-old speedster on the eve of his return.
At the end of the day, Madhya Pradesh trailed Bengal by 103 runs after scoring 103 for the loss of a wicket taken by Mohammed Kaif, Shami's brother.
