The Rock has had legendary encounters with Hulk Hogan, John Cena and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, but he has yet to make it ten rounds against the hot chicken wings of “Hot Ones”. According to “Hot Ones” host Sean Evans, efforts to obtain the elusive interview once led to a peculiar request.
“Hot Ones” is a popular YouTube talk show where celebrities answer questions while eating increasingly spicier wings. The digital platform has previously welcomed Shaquille O'Neal, Gordon Ramsay, Billie Eilish, Tom Holland and “Stone Cold”, to name just a few of the Hollywood stars.
Evans and the “Hot Ones” team have been trying to get Dwayne Johnson on the show for years. Evans recalls a correspondence with The Rock's team that gave “Hot Ones” a strange glimmer of hope.
“We pitched [The Rock] Apparently for years, and one time I got a message back saying, “Would you be willing to make grilled salmon strips instead of wings?” And in my head I thought that had to come from his mouth…” Evans told Bloomberg. “This is as close as ever. And then it fell through.”
Talks between “Hot Ones” and The Rock seemingly fizzled out as “The Most Electrifying Man” puts the SmackDown on spicy salmon strips.
