Oscar De La Hoya is the latest to claim Jake Paul's victory over Mike Tyson was “scripted.”

De La Hoya was one of the millions who watched Paul defeat former undisputed heavyweight champion Tyson Points last Friday at AT&T Stadium in Texas.

After a bright start, 58-year-old Tyson struggled to get anywhere close to his vintage bloom “The problem child” Relief to a unanimous decision victory.

Many observers have since argued that “Iron Mike” held back to ensure Paul emerged victorious, a view with which former sixweight world champion De La Hoya agrees.

“Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul was inherently a terrible fight,” the 51-year-old said on an episode of Call back on Thursday.

“From the beginning it was just terrible.

“Mike almost fell during his strike and was on fast sand from the first 10 seconds of the fight.

“It was wishful thinking for all those idiots who thought they were going to get Mike Tyson from the '90s to come out and rip someone's head off.

“Everyone talks about how staged this fight was.

“I believe it was scripted and I believe Tyson was definitely held back.

“I'm a fighter and I can see it. It's on her file and has been sanctioned, so Jake Paul paid to have the W put on his file, for what?

“To your personal satisfaction?”

The fight attracted 60 million households on streaming giant Netflix.

Paul has since been challenged by undisputed light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev and the IBF heavyweight titleholder. Daniel Dubois.

However, De La Hoya joked that the YouTuber-turned-boxer would instead try to face another older opponent.

“Who’s next?

“[82-year-old US President] Joe Biden?
