The opening match of Full Gear featured a decent mix of strong in-ring work, comedy (thanks to The Outrunners) and chaos, but not much in the way of storytelling, and it should be noted that the crowd wasn't quite as good hot like other games. “The Kings Of The Black Throne” had an entertaining dominance. Things got a little messy towards the end, especially when it came to The Acclaimed's misunderstandings, although this at least added to their potential downfall. Private Party emerged victorious and achieved their first successful title defense after their championship win last month.

This was one of the most disappointing matches on the card. It wasn't bad by any means, with Konosuke Takeshita and Ricochet performing everything with crisp fluidity and good punching power, but there was a distinct lack of energy throughout most of this match that resulted in the match falling short of expectations. The slower pace didn't sit well with fans, the big spots didn't capture the excitement, and although there were impressive moments, the audience just couldn't really get involved. The distraction of Don Callis provided some storytelling development, but overall the resulting match wasn't what it should have been.

It took a while to get going, but the crowd grew with the action as it became more physical as time went on. The hatred between these two men felt authentic as Garcia's shots at Perry were brutal. Jack Perry's character work was confusing several times during this match, he randomly smiled in awkward moments and his heel work still didn't work. Daniel Garcia's win made up for some of the pitfalls of this game, He won his first singles title in AEW by becoming the new TNT Champion.

The lack of a strong storyline and MJF's reduced presence leading up to this fight certainly affected the heat of the fight. The work in the ring was not bad in itself, but it lacked some energy and failed to advance to the next level, despite the talent of these two people. There was some decent work focusing on Strong's hand, providing some good psychology, although it did lead to a very sudden end to the submission. MJF attacked Strong after the match, which leads to Adam Cole rushing to his aid.

The audience began dueling chants for the two men as they engaged in a very solid fight. The focus on her legs was a good thread, although it was less effective as the same thing was seen in the match before (Mercedes Mone vs. Kris Statlander). Adam Page and Jay White didn't do much wrong when it came to the technical side of this fight, although interest in the fight fluctuated, perhaps due to the fact that the storyline wasn't necessarily particularly hot leading up to the PPV.

Orange Cassidy got an electric start, jumping out of the gate and creating a rush of attack that surprised Jon Moxley. However, Moxley managed to turn things around and systematically and bloodily beat down his opponent. The pair engaged in a fierce and physical battle, with Moxley looking dangerous and Cassidy showing plenty of resilience. The chaotic brawl between the Death Riders and Conglomeration led to some hilarious near falls and an arguably overbooked ending, but the audience was still thrilled. Moxley ultimately retained his AEW World Championship.

This was one of Mercedes Mone's best matches since joining AEWwho looked vicious in her attacks on Statlander's injured knee, displaying good frustration and character work throughout. Things started off hot with a big hurricanrana and meteora on the floor, and the action didn't stop in terms of intensity and hard-hitting moves that both women put on and showed strong chemistry. The audience became more and more engaged and there were a few near falls towards the end.

It felt like a big fight between two stars as Bobby Lashley and Swerve Strickland met in a very strong match that proved to be a wonderful introduction for Lashley to AEW. Lashley showed a lot of dominance early on and looked tough as he attacked Strickland, but the fan favorite hurried and got back into the game. There were several great moments, such as a massive Swerve Stromp through the announce table and a brutal spear through the barricade. These types of spots helped improve the game. Lashley's relatively clean win was very impressive and it was the right choice to make him look strong.

Will Ospreay and Kyle Fletcher tore it down in their highly personal grudge match at AEW Full Gear 2024. Their offense had a great mix of insane aerial moves, vicious strikes, electric sequences and breathtaking near falls. The AEW crowd went into a frenzy throughout the match as the action became faster and more intense. Every time Fletcher wrestles he looks more and more like a star, and here he emerged victorious on another night that produced stars for the young name. In several scary moments, he aimed for Ospreay's neck, prompting a wild “Brainbustah!” to end the game.
