The Miami Dolphins were without quarterback Tua Tagovailoa in their first meeting with the New England Patriots, but still found enough offense late in the game to score a game-winning 80-yard touchdown drive in the fourth quarter .
That was thanks to running backs Raheem Mostert and Jaylen Wright, who combined for 166 rushing yards after De'Von Achane left the game early with a concussion.
With two new quarterbacks (Drake Maye replaced Jacoby Brissett in the Patriots' starting lineup) for the rematch, circumstances have changed. But the ground game could once again be the key to Miami's success.

Achane has become something of a workhorse for the Dolphins, making at least a dozen appearances in each of the last three weeks. If he gets a similar amount of touches on Sunday, he should be able to hit the over against a defense that has allowed at least 100 rushing yards in eight of the last nine weeks.

It's a little difficult for Wright to reach the end zone for the first time in his career, but he did get one against New England seven weeks ago, and if the Dolphins come out on top, he could get a lengthy appearance on Sunday. It's worth a roll of the dice.

Tagovailoa doesn't run often, but he has shown increased escape ability in 2024 because, according to Tyreek Hill, “he's not fat anymore.” The Dolphins quarterback ran for at least three yards in his first four games of the season, but not in the last two. It's very likely that he'll be able to get his legs up a few feet at some point on Sunday.

The Dolphins have tried to get their rookie receiver involved, and he had four touches against the Raiders last week, including three receptions. Just one target might be enough for the young receiver to surpass seven yards against the Patriots.

Waddle's disappearance was a bit of a mystery. While he's been good for a big play or two almost every week, the fourth-year receiver hasn't topped 60 yards since Week 1. Still, he had a 24-yard grab last week and a 36-yarder the game before that. It may not take much commitment to reach 40 yards on Sunday.
