In this shortened work week, Monday will become Wednesday on the Detroit Lions' practice calendar. That means the injury and participation report will come out on Monday afternoon rather than the usual Wednesday, as the Lions host the Chicago Bears on Thursday at 12:30 p.m.
The good news first. Starting cornerback Terrion Arnold was back at Monday's practice as a full participant – that was a complete solution. Arnold missed Sunday's game in Indianapolis because of a groin injury he suffered in practice last week. It's a good sign that the first-round rookie has been practicing without limited action.
Now for the bad news. All of the following players were listed as retired:
LT Taylor Decker – Knee
CB Carlton Davis – Knee/Thumb
RB David Montgomery – Shoulder
WR Kalif Raymond – foot
DT DJ Reader – Illness
WR Amon-Ra St. Brown – Knee
Of these injuries, only Raymond appears to be a long-term injury. However, given the short week of preparation, it is not a good development that so many key players are struggling with injuries that are preventing them from training.
