Barcelona are eyeing the striker market ahead of the summer 2025 transfer window to secure the services of Robert Lewandowski’s successor. Viktor Gyokere’s name has been at the center of speculation in recent months, with the Swedish striker having already scored 33 goals for club and country this season.
Gyokeres is on Barcelona’s shortlist and they could have an advantage over the others in their attempt to sign him. for an additional season, but say they want to lower the offer price by including the remaining 50% of Francisco Trincao’s rights in the deal.
They can re-sign Trincao for €20 million or wait for him to be sold to receive half the transfer fee. However, their idea is to pre-empt this by transferring these rights to Sporting to allow Gyokeres to lower their asking price compared to the rest of the club interested in the 26-year-old. It’s a bold strategy, but it could be genius.
