Following the Denver Broncos After Sunday afternoon's 29-19 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, rookie quarterback Bo Nix delivered another classic quote about the team's resilience.
The Broncos trailed the entire second quarter and took a 13-9 lead into halftime. The tide turned in the third quarter when safety Brandon Jones grabbed an interceptionand set up the go-ahead touchdown for Denver. The Broncos then took a 16-13 lead and never looked back from there.
“It’s huge,” Nix said of the team’s resilience. “I never felt on the sideline that we were down or that we were out. We moved the ball again. We just had to score field goals. We didn't need to change anything except get to the edge of the red zone and convert a little more.
“Our defense played really well from start to finish. At the end of the game they were often sent onto the field and had to make some crucial stops. That's what they did. So it was a complete team victory. Very resilient from our boys. But I never lost that edge. We never lost faith on the sidelines. I always thought we would find a way to win. That’s what makes a good team.”
Nix finished the game completing 25 of 42 passes for 273 yards, two touchdowns and no turnovers and ultimately won 29-19. Nix's performance on the field was excellent And he always says the right things even off the field. Denver has finally found its franchise quarterback.
