Ben Shalom insists Conor Benn's financial demands were a major obstacle to ending a dispute with Chris Eubank Jr.
Shalom, Eubank Jr.'s promoter, negotiates with Benn's promoter Eddie Hearn to secure a rearranged showdown between the British rivals.
The pair were scheduled to meet in October 2022, but the catchweight bout was pushed back to fight week after Benn made a mistake Drug test.
“The Destroyer”. was released by the National Anti-Doping Panelwho lifted his suspension, after which negotiations resumed for a grudge match with Eubank Jr. that would see Benn move up two weight classes to middleweight.
A major point of contention appeared to be the financial demands of both men, with Benn's side demanding a 50-50 split.

Shalom said last month he persuaded Eubank Jr. to accept a 55-45 split in his favor, and the BOXXER promoter claims Benn is demanding the kind of purse Anthony Joshua can achieve.

“If this was Chris Eubank Jr. three or four years ago, probably when he was more hotheaded, then he actually took a pretty sensible and mature approach to this whole thing.
“I really believe that. It's just a matter of making sure the other side feels the same way. I think it will be done.â€
Shalom told Pro boxing fans On Wednesday, the two sides announced that they were close to an agreement. The fight is expected to take place in April if an agreement is reached.
A showdown with WBA middleweight Erislandy. Lara is in line for Eubank Jr should a deal fall through, while his Essex counterpart is likely to aim for a meeting with WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios if he is unable to face the Brighton man to compete.
“I think it will happen as long as no one does anything stupid,” Shalom told Pro Boxing Fans.
“We are now on the home stretch.
“It's like the last 100 meters and as long as someone doesn't do something crazy they should get over the finish line, but it has to be now because Lara is on the starting grid.”
“Even the terms are all outlined. Nobody wants to wait and everyone is ready to go.
“We know where it will take place. We know it will take place in the UK.
“The framework is there and now it’s just a matter of getting it over the finish line.”
