Carl Froch has announced his withdrawal for the upcoming rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury.

Froch had correctly predicted that Usyk would defeat Fury for the first time in May, with the Ukrainian winning all four world heavyweight titles with a split decision win.

“The Gypsy King” goes into hers December 21st He was once again fighting an underdog, and many were concerned about the damage he had suffered earlier in the year – particularly the dramatic ninth round in which he was badly injured and knocked down.

And in conversation with casino.orgFroch admitted that he believes his compatriot will fail again against Usyk.

“The first fight was close. At least it was very close until Fury was knocked down in round nine.

“It will be interesting. Usyk is 37, he's older than Fury, but he's living life. It's not the age of the fighter that matters, but the kilometers covered.

“Fury has more mileage under his belt after having three tough fights against Deontay Wilder, then being down against Francis Ngannou.

“I would predict a victory for Usyk, probably on points. I couldn’t rule out the late stoppage because if Fury actually does it the way he suggests, he will.”

There has been much speculation as to whether Fury will make a change in his tactics ahead of the crucial rematch, although he insists he should have had his hand raised in the first fight and therefore will not make any drastic adjustments.

Undisputed status is not up for debate this time, as Usyk was forced to relinquish the IBF belt this summer, now held by Daniel Dubois stunning victory over Anthony Joshua at Wembley Stadium.

There is a view that should Fury reverse the result in four weeks, a long overdue grudge match with Joshua will be next, although Dubois will no doubt feel he is the man to claim a shot at the Morecambe man has.
