Eddie Hearn admits he is worried Darren Till may struggle to maintain his composure when he takes on Tommy Fury on January 18.
Till, a former UFC welterweight, will challenge Fury at Co-op Live in Manchester live on DAZN pay-per-view.
Tensions between the couple and especially Fury's father John boiled over press conference Matchroom Boxing boss Hearn was in London on Tuesday to promote the showdown and wondered whether the Liverpool man can hold his nerve in the ring.
“From an economic point of view, it’s an interesting duel,” said the 45-year-old Ariel and Ade show.
“Tommy Fury is a big name.
“Darren Till is a great personality.
“You're dealing with a guy who's not really good enough to be a championship-level professional boxer versus a UFC fighter who has the fundamentals of boxing.
“In terms of the duel, I think it’s a pretty even duel to be honest.
“I worry about Darren when it comes to maintaining his composure in the ring when things don’t go his way.
“I don’t mind because it leans more towards the world of professional boxing than the world of social media.”
Fury, Fury Sr and Till all had to be separated by security after a melee ensued following a heated back and forth in which Till threatened to kick his rival in the face as they squared off in an eight-round heavyweight bout .
Fury, who beat both of them Jake Paul And KSI In his 10-fight professional career, he left the press conference after the fracas and did not return for a faceoff.
However, Hearn admits he expects a tough fight when the pair meet in early 2025.
“I don’t hate it because Tommy Fury beat KSI, he beat Jake Paul,” he added.
“He had some professional fights.
“And Darren Till is a fighter and I think Darren has trained long enough in boxing with Joe McNally and those guys to have the qualifications and ability to be more than competitive in a fight with Tommy Fury.
“So in that regard, I don’t mind.”
