You can add next week's Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight to the ever-growing list of things Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury disagree about.
Paul and Tyson will clash AT&T Stadium in Texas next Friday in an event that is dividing opinions across the boxing world – and that includes Joshua and Fury.
And even though “Iron Mike” is almost 60 years old, his British namesake believes he can do it against his younger opponent.
“If Mike Tyson hits someone, I don't care if he's 90, he's going to knock him out, isn't he?” he told the MMA lesson.
“He’s Iron Mike Tyson, the baddest man on the planet.
“Jake Paul is very experienced now and has a lot of fights under his belt, but of course I have to back Mike Tyson for the knockout as he always has my back.”
Tyson terrorized the heavyweight division in his heyday in the late 1980s, but that was a long time ago and some have expressed concerns about the New yorker's health should something go wrong against Paul.
This was the opinion Joshua expressed when he appeared during an appearance on the television show “ The Jonathan Ross Show.
“He [Tyson] is older now.
“I pray he comes out healthy. I find [wins] because of the youth – that’s the only thing.”
Paul, who rose to fame as a YouTuber, has compiled a record of 10-1 since entering the world of professional boxing in 2020, although most of his wins have come against opponents former MMA fighter.
Tyson has not boxed professionally since a 6th round loss to the Irish heavyweight Kevin McBride back in 2004, but took part in an exhibition with his legendary colleague Roy Jones Jr. in 2020.
