With this win, the series is level and the final two T20Is will play as the decider. The third T20I is scheduled for November 13 and the final T20I is scheduled to be played on November 15.
IND vs SA 2nd T20I Match Summary
South Africa again won the toss and elected to bowl first. India played with the same team as the first T20I while South Africa made a change with Reeza Hendricks replacing Kruger.
INDIA Innings – 124/6 (20 overs)
India's innings got off to a rocky start as Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav were lost early on, putting the team in a difficult situation. The middle-order batters struggled to pick up the pace, with Tilak managing a steady but slow run-a-ball 20.
The team faced an uphill battle to rebuild their innings but Axar Patel brought some firepower with an aggressive approach, only to be run out by bad luck at the bowler's end.
Rinku Singh was unable to make a significant impact but Hardik Pandya stepped in with a valuable late contribution that gave a glimmer of hope. Thanks to Pandya's efforts, India managed to cross the 120-run mark and save a total that gave their bowlers something to defend.
South Africa Innings – 128/7 (19 overs)
The Proteas displayed exceptional bowling and restricted India to a sub-par result. Rickelton started with a few boundaries but was soon cornered by Arshdeep. Chakaravarthy came into the game in the 5th over and quickly made a name for himself by dismissing Markram with a clever googly.
Chakaravarthy continued his impressive performance, dismissing Hendricks in his next over and taking advantage of the turn and control of the pitch. South Africa tried to turn the tide by promoting Jansen to No. 5, but he too fell victim to Chakaravarthy's mysterious twist.
On the other hand, Bishnoi bowled with discipline which added to South Africa's challenges. The decisive breakthrough came when Chakaravarthy removed Klaasen and thus kept the pressure high. He struck again and bowled Miller on the very next delivery to secure his first five-wicket win in T20Is.
Chakaravarthy finished the game with remarkable figures of 5/17, leaving South Africa reeling. However, Stubbs found a reliable partner in Coetzee who played aggressively. Together they formed a quick 42-run partnership off 20 balls and took South Africa to victory with an over to spare.
