Former Indian cricketer and current cricket expert Irfan Pathan has predicted that Mitchell Starc's auction record is in danger at the IPL 2025 mega auction. The Australian pacer was sold at a price of Rs 24.75 crore during the IPL 2024 auction.
The cricket commentator chose Rishabh Pant as the most expensive player in the IPL mega auction 2025, breaking the record of Mitchell Starc. Pant was released by his former franchise Delhi Capitals ahead of the auction. The wicketkeeper was part of the franchise for nine years and captained the side for the last four seasons.
The Indian wicketkeeper was part of the 2016 IPL auction and was bought by the Delhi-based franchise for a whopping price of Rs 1.9 crore. He played an important role in the franchise's rise and ensured they reached the Finals in the 2020 season.
