The mega auction IPL 2025 is about to kick off as the marquee event is set to take place in Jeddah on November 24th and 25th. Before the auction, the various franchises announced their respective commitments.
While the teams announced many players as new additions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru only announced Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar and Yash Dayal as new additions. The team will go into the mega auction with a balance of INR 83 crore. The team has sacked its captain, Faf du Plessis, and will have a new captain in IPL 2025.

3. KL Rahul

Much to the surprise of many, Rahul was released by the Lucknow Super Giants ahead of the mega auction. It is worth noting that Rahul led LSG to the IPL playoffs in 2022 and 2023 but failed to help his team to the playoffs in 2024 and he might lead the team in IPL 2025 as well.
With a set base price of INR 2 crore, Rahul could be a good addition to the Royal Challengers Bengaluru squad and since the star batter has already played for the franchise, Rahul would be quite welcome in his native Bengaluru.
It is worth noting that the 32-year-old has played 132 matches in the IPL and managed to amass 4,683 runs and maintain an average of 45.47 runs. He will hope that he can get back on track when he makes his comeback to RCB.
