The mega auction for the 2025 edition of the T20/ipl-indian-premier-league/” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener”>Indian Premier League (IPL) had shortlisted 577 players from a total of 1,574 registrations that went under the hammer. Of the 577 players, only 182 were applied. Ultimately, 120 Indians and 62 overseas players were distributed across the 10 franchises.

There were a number of players who received numerous bids and understandably pocketed a hefty sum. However, there were quite a few players who were sold, and not at the price people expected them to be bought at, despite having a respectable track record in the IPL and 20-over cricket. Below is a list of five players who deserved higher bids than they ultimately received.

Unlike all the names mentioned above cricket-players/ashutosh-sharma/” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener”>Ashutosh Sharma is a newcomer to the cash-rich league with just one season of experience under his belt. However, the way he batted in most of the nine innings was like he was an IPL star. It was encouraging to witness his mid-range heroics, which often put PBKS in a much more comfortable position in the game.

His domestic T20 performances have already established him as a reliable six-hitter. The sale to DC for a final price of INR 3.80 crore was quite unexpected. Before the deadline for ties to be finalized, numerous reports circulated that all but confirmed that he was among the players who would be retained.
