India's T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav is preparing to make his entry into the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy for the Mumbai team. After the star player missed the first league games for personal reasons, he will now appear with his home team in the decisive game against Services in Hyderabad.
The Mumbai cricket Association (MCA), which had initially announced a 17-man squad without Suryakumar, has now included the Indian star T20I captain in its line-up. Yadav also played a game in the Ranji Trophy first leg against Maharashtra and scored seven runs in the first innings.
According to TOI, the star batter has been included in Mumbai's squad for the upcoming game on Tuesday, December 3. However, it is likely that the Indian skipper will play under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer, who led the Kolkata Knight Riders to an IPL title in the 2024 edition of the cash-rich tournament.

Meanwhile, the 34-year-old led India in their 3-1 series win over South Africa. While he only managed 26 runs in three innings in the recent South African series, his presence will be invaluable to the team.
Suryakumar was initially expected to miss the opening games but is now expected to be reinstated in the squad in early December. His inclusion came at a crucial time as the team looked to strengthen its position in the tournament and make a strong push toward the playoffs.
His most notable contribution was the selfless decision to step down from his preferred No.3 batting position and make way for the young talent Tilak Varma, who went on to hit two consecutive centuries. He also played a crucial role in boosting the confidence of players like Sanju Samson, who scored two centuries in the four-match T20I series.
Mumbai are full of confidence with two wins
Furthermore, Mumbai, who are competing in Group E of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, have had a mixed run so far. The team has secured two wins, a comfortable 26-run win against Goa and a five-wicket win over Maharashtra, while they suffered a 43-run defeat against Kerala.
