NEW DELHI: Back at the helm for India in the day/night Test against Australia Adelaide Oval, Rohit Sharma radiated confidence and appeared relaxed at his press conference on Thursday.
India led the five-Test series 1-0 after a stunning 295-run win in Perth under the captaincy of Jasprit Bumrahthe test that Rohit missing because of the birth of his son.

Ahead of the second Test, the biggest question for India was the batting position KL Rahul after putting up a brilliant 201-run opening stand Yashasvi Jaiswal in the second innings of the Perth Test.
When Rohit was asked about his batting position in the second Test, he confirmed Rahul's batting position.

“KL will open the innings and I will play somewhere in the middle. It is not easy for me but it is best for the team,” Rohit told reporters on the eve of the second Test.
Rohit's Test career took a turn for the better after he started opening in 2019.
“What KL has shown outside India deserves this place (opening slot),” Rohit added.
In India's remarkable Perth win, Rahul – leading for the first time since February 2023 – wasted 74 balls as India collapsed in the first innings for 150 in 298 balls. He then remained in place for 176 balls in an opening stand of 201 runs as Jaiswal scored 161.
