NEW DELHI: Formerly Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) Captain Faf you Plessis shared his thoughts on the upcoming one Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction, expressing excitement and uncertainty over the proceedings.
Du Plessis, a veteran IPL campaigner, has represented franchises like Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) and RCB during his illustrious career.
With 145 IPL matches under his belt, Du Plessis has scored 4,571 runs at an impressive average of 35.99 and a strike rate of over 136, proving his mettle as a top-class batsman. His highest individual score in the tournament is an impressive 96 runs.
Since taking over the RCB captaincy in 2022, Du Plessis has been a consistent performer, scoring 1,636 runs at an average of 38.05 and a strike rate of nearly 147. He has registered 15 half-centuries in 45 innings, with one over -Score of 96 runs.
Last season, Du Plessis played a crucial role in RCB's playoff qualification, contributing 438 runs at an average of 29.20 and a strike rate of 161.62, including four half-centuries, with his best score being 64 runs lay.

Despite his contributions, the Bengaluru-based franchise could not keep Du Plessis at the top IPL 2025 season and instead opted to retain Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar and Yash Dayal.
Du Plessis expressed his thoughts on the upcoming mega auction, acknowledging the unpredictability of such events: “You never know at auctions. You never know what's going to happen, so everyone's excited to see what happens on November 24th.” “I have no idea what's going to happen, so I'll check.”
The IPL 2025 mega auction is scheduled to take place on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where franchises will bid for players to build their squads for the upcoming season.
