2024 MLB awards finalists Shohei Ohtani Aaron Judge Paul Skenes up for MVP Cy Young Rookie of the Year

Major League Baseball's 2024 awards season is underway and on Monday night and the Baseball Writers Association of America announced the top three finalists for each of the four major awards. These are rookie of the Year, Manager of the Year, Cy Young and Most Valuable Player. The winners will be announced next week.

Here is the 2024 awards announcement schedule (winners will be announced each day during a live MLB Network broadcast):

  • November 18th: Rookies of the Year
  • November 19th: Manager of the Year
  • November 20th: Cy Youngs
  • November 21st: MVPs

These are regular season awards only. BBWAA members cast their votes after the regular season and before the postseason, so the awards do not reflect what happened in October. There are 30 voters per award (two per MLB city in this league).

Monday's announcement revealed the top three finalists for each award, although they are actually more likely to be the top three vote-getters. There is no second phase of voting only for the three finalists. The three finalists finished voting 1-2-3 in any order. Here are the finalists for the 2024 MLB Awards (in alphabetical order).
