Two fans who intervened Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts during Game 4 of the 2024 World Series at Yankee Stadium, all Major League Baseball games at all stadiums have been suspended indefinitely, reports the New York Post.

In a letter from one MLB In an official letter obtained by The Post, the league wrote in part to the suspended fans: “Your behavior posed a serious threat to the player’s health and safety and went well beyond the bounds of acceptable fan behavior. Based on your conduct, Major League Baseball bans you from entering all MLB stadiums, offices and other facilities indefinitely.”
The incident occurred during the first inning of Game 4 When Gleyber Torres des New York Yankees lifted a foul ball down the right field line. Betts attempted to jump with the ball on the wall, but two fans sitting on the railing grabbed his throwing hand and ripped the ball out of his glove. Here's a look:
Torres was called out for fan interference and the two fans – later identified as Austin Capobianco and John P. Hansen – were ejected from Game 4 and banned from the deciding Game 5 by the Yankees, who called in a statement saying Betts' interference was ” outrageous and unacceptable.”
“We always joke about the ball in our area” Capobianco told ESPN shortly after the incident. “We won’t bother attacking. If it is in our range, we will go up “D”. Someone defends, someone hits the ball. We talk about it. We are ready for this.” This.”
While the Yankees won Game 4, it was their only win in the series as the Dodgers won in five games.
