Ha Seong Kims Challenging Free Agent Case

It's time for another edition of the weekly MLB Mailbag here at MLBTR. I'm going to take a dig at MLBTR owner Tim Dierkes this week.

We've received more questions than usual, with a focus on some recent rumors/reports regarding notable NL Central players Nolan Arenado And Cody Bellinger. We'll address that, plus questions about the Phillies' options, the Reds' prospects after a few early moves, the recent wave of non-tendered players, how the A's can actually spend some money and more.

To the questions!

Mark asks:

If the Cardinals fail to find a trade partner for Nolan Arenado (or one he agrees to), how can they resolve the stalemate? Gorman, Donovan, Saggese – and finally Wetherholt – at 2B/3B, and 1B/DH is now filled with Contreras and Burleson, so to speak. If they plan on letting the younger ones play, it seems difficult to imagine how much playing time will be available.

Eldon asks:

The Yankees are rumored to be interested in Nolan Arenado. Wouldn't that be too similar to the recent Donaldson fiasco? Hopefully Steinbrenner and/or Cashman wouldn't try that again… right? An aging Player with a big contract who appears to be in decline? Why?
