The Riyadh season is not slowing down at all.
In recent years, Saudi Arabia has made great strides in combat sports with numerous Riyadh Season events featuring some of the biggest names in both boxing and MMA. And that push appears to be continuing, as on Monday Saudi Arabia's General Entertainment Authority Chairman Turki Alalshikh announced another high-profile boxing event for February 22, headlined by the highly anticipated rematch between the two And .
Beterbiev and Bivol met back in October for the undisputed light heavyweight title, with Beterbiev taking home a majority decision in a razor-sharp fight to become the first undisputed champion in nearly two decades. Now the two will fight again for the undisputed title in a fight called “The Last Crescendo.”
The event also includes six other title fights. In the co-main event IBF heavyweight champion puts his title on the line against interim champion Joseph Parker. Parker, meanwhile, won a majority decision to claim the interim title in March.
WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson will also compete on the card, challenging 22-year-old Floyd Schofield for his title.
Also on the card: WBC middleweight champion Carlos Adames puts his belt on the line against undefeated 25-year-old Hamzah Sheeraz, WBC interim super welterweight champion Vergil Ortiz Jr. defends his title against former WBA super welterweight champion Israel Madrimov , Zhilei Zhang faces Agit Kabayel fights for the vacant WBC interim heavyweight title, and Joshua Buatsi takes on Callum Smith for the WBO interim light heavyweight title.
