Former UFC women's flyweight champion may be outside the octagon for a while.
At Monday's event, Grasso announced via her Instagram account that she broke her leg while training when she posted a photo with a crutch and one leg in a boot.
Grasso did not reveal a recovery timeline or when she would return to competition.
The 31-year-old recently lost the women's 125-pound championship via a lopsided decision to in her trilogy in September. It was Grasso's first loss in five years – a controversial decision loss in her last strawweight bout against her in September 2019.
After winning her next four fights, Grasso got her first chance to fight for a UFC title and she pulled off a stunning upset win over Shevchenko in March 2023. They would face each other in a rematch six months later and fought to a draw in one of the best fights of the year.
