has a little extra help for .
Garry is competing this Saturday in a five-round co-main event of UFC 310. It's an important fight for Garry as with a win he'll likely be next in line to claim the welterweight title and as such Garry goes all out to achieve a very special victory. Eckmann accompanied him to the event.
“I recently read a statistic: “After his 46th UFC fight, he reached the fourth round for the first time in his career,” Garry said on his . “This is crazy! The guy is a machine! …
“I love and adore Charles Oliveira with all my heart. He is absolutely the most entertaining fighter in the UFC. …Man has never been in a dull fight. He’s an absolute savage, I love him and he’ll be by my side in this fight.”
A little extra help certainly can't hurt. Like Garry, Rakhmonov is undefeated in his MMA career; However, unlike Garry, Rakhmonov never relied on the jury to win. Rakhmonov has a perfect record of 18-0 in his career with 18 finishes. His impressive record has many fans believing that Rakhmonov is the next welterweight champion, but come Saturday, Garry wants to shatter that dream at all costs.
“I think God has a plan and if God wants me to finish Shavkat, He will give it to me,” Garry said. “But I have no problem with Shavkat getting flustered for 25 minutes and making a statement. …”
“I’m going to win no matter what anyone throws at me,” Garry later added. “I tell you now, December 7th, Ian Garry vs. Shavkat Rakhmonov, I will raise my hand, 16-0, by any means possible.”
If Garry can back up his words, he will almost certainly become a welterweight contender next. At just 27 years old, Garry would have the chance to become one of the youngest champions in the UFC roster. But he has no plans to stop. “The Future” has big plans for himself and they all start this weekend.
“We’ll see that in the future because I’m going to move up to middleweight and get the belt as well,” Garry said. “I will definitely get a second belt. I could even move up to light heavyweight and get a third belt. Because trust me, I can do anything I want.”
UFC 310 takes place on December 7th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
