In a somewhat surprising move, the UFC booked Buckley against the former interim champion to round out the return of the action in “The Sunshine State.”
Garry now supports Buckley in not only defeating Covington, but also eliminating him.
“Joaquin Buckley: I’m behind you 100 percent,” Garry continued . “Go out and put this man to sleep, please and thank you. Do it for me, for he cannot do it against me.”
After Garry was booked, he blamed both Covington and the former champion declined matches with him. “The Future” has been calling out Covington for more than a year, and the undefeated Garry now believes that Covington returning to face Buckley is proof that “Chaos” wanted nothing to do with fighting him .
“That just shows it [he’s] “I ducked for seven, eight months,” Garry said. “I signed with the worst man in the division and this guy comes out of the damn shadows. He sucks. He's a bitch. And one day I’ll get my hands on it.”
