Michael Chandler shows gnarly swelling from brutal Charles Oliveira fight

fought twice. And you notice that.

The two recently competed in a rematch with Oliveira taking a 2-0 lead in the series with a unanimous decision win over Chandler. It was a largely one-sided affair until Chandler turned up the aggression (and used some questionable tactics) in the fifth round and nearly stole the win in the final five minutes.

However, Oliveira was able to secure the victory on points after manhandling Chandler on the feet and on the ground for most of the contest. On Tuesday, Chandler shared a video on social media that showed absurd swelling on his right leg.

Watch the clip below.

Chandler indicates the severity of the swelling by stabbing his flesh with two fingers, leaving two indentations that do not immediately disappear.

“Look at that knee,” Chandler said. “The swelling goes down completely.”

Despite the incredibly physical fight, Chandler left UFC 309 without any significant injuries Chandler received a 30-day suspension, requiring further clearance from a primary care physician.

Chandler also released another video on Tuesday in which he updated on his health and his future plans.

“We use the red light bed, the HyperMax, the cold plunge pool, the contrast therapy, the sauna, the PEMF mat, we use the hyperbaric chamber, we use everything because the road to recovery started on Monday,” Chandler said. “I got my MRIs and all that stuff set up and got the results back and we'll see what kind of damage we've suffered, but whatever the case, we're not slowing down. Whatever the case, we continue to move forward.”

“The future still looks bright. 2025 will be big. You know there are some big fights out there. There is a failed struggle that must finally come to fruition The Ultimate Fighter 31. There are other people saying my name, other people interested in the fight, and you've captivated the fans because there's no one else who brings the kind of passion, violence, speed, mix of emotions, etc Dichotomy of emotions from one end of the spectrum to the other. The highs and lows will keep you on the edge of your seat and make you thank God that you bought the pay-per-view or showed up at the arena. There’s only one man who can do it.”
