Yuki Tsunoda revealed that I misheard a radio message who warned him there was a loose mirror on the track at the Qatar Grand Prix and he thought there was a beaver.
The RB driver had a frustrating afternoon as he tumbled down the standings after a good first lap and eventually finished 13th, after a failed attempt to use soft tires in the final laps.
But after the race he admitted some confusion with a mid-race radio message coming from the pit wall on what turned out to be the floating mirror of Alex Albon.
When asked about As for whether he had seen the rearview mirror, Tsunoda said: “Was it a mirror? I heard a beaver. My engineers said, “There’s a beaver. » But why is there a beaver in the Middle East? How is it possible that “There is a beaver in the Middle East? But hey, maybe there will be a surprise like that with global warming… there are a lot of interesting things on Earth »
The director of Red Bull, Christian Hornerlater joked about the difference between the mirror and the beaver: “It's quite a change…”.

Tsunoda admitted that he hadn't seen the mirror, but believes that the resulting double yellows were not respected by all drivers.
Lando Norrisof McLarenin fact, received a penalty in the form of stop and go by 10 seconds and went from second place to 10th place in the race.
“There was a double yellow and some cars behind didn’t respect it,” he explained. “So we need to revisit this in the next briefing pilots, that some pilots respect it and others do not respect it. It’s quite unfair,” added the Japanese.
Lack of pace in the RB race
As for the grand prize itself, Tsunoda felt like an easy target when his rivals overtook him with relative ease, after briefly placing in the top 10.
After the race he stated that I've never had such bad running pace before: “Yes, I had a good start and I was ninth, I was able to overtake Alonso after the safety car,” he said. “But I've never had such a bad pace. I gave everything, I couldn't even manage the tires.”
“In Qatar, it's usually difficult for the car behind to overtake, and it seems like a lot of cars struggled to pass me. It's just a lack of pace in general.”
