Andrea Iannone35, will continue to compete in the production motorcycle world championship for one more season, after finding a sponsor to cover expenses. The Vasto rider, who achieved thirteen victories during his career as world champion, including one in MotoGP, at the 2016 Austrian Grand Prix, was sanctioned for doping in 2019, submitting to a four-year suspension, after which he could reappear, at the beginning of this year, in the SBK championship, thanks to the support of Ducati, the Go Eleven team and sponsors.
Iannone, who recently admitted to having paid to be able to compete again, celebrates today having found the complicity of the house of Bologna, of those responsible for his team and of the sponsor, one of the most legendary in Italian motorcycling, the house of 'Pata' chips, who supported him this year on a personal basis and who will become the main sponsor of the team in 2025.
During his first season in SBK and after four years of unemployment, Iannone demonstrated his speed by achieving a victory on September 28 in Aragon which led the Italian to intensify his efforts to be able to continue, for another year, in the gap.
“Seventh in the overall championship standings, the renewal of the agreement between Go Eleven and the #29 is the crowning achievement of this first year together during which, on the Ducati Panigale V4-R, the rider and the team achieved five podiums, including the incredible and well-deserved victory in the Aragon Cycle,” explains the press release, which also refers to the absolute support of the manufacturer Borgo Panigale.
“By 2025, Iannone will benefit from all the technological developments made available to it by Ducati”, with the aim of “fighting for the championship” next season.
“I am very happy to continue on this path with team Pata Go Eleven behind the wheel of the Ducati Panigale V4-R,” explains Andrea in the published note.before listing the list of thanks:
“I would like to thank Gigi Dall'Igna, Claudio Domenicali, Paolo Ciabatti, Marco Zambenedetti, Mauro Grassilli and the entire Pata Go Eleven team for their renewed confidence. A special thank you also to Remo Gobbi and the WorldSBK family,” concludes -he. .
On paper, the Italian company “Pata” will continue to be the main sponsor of the Yamaha team in SBK, in addition to being a regular collaborator of all Italian teams.
Its president, Remo Gobbi, explains that he will intensify his support for Iannone, extending sponsorship to the entire team, in which only Iannone competes.
“I have always felt esteem and admiration for Andrea since the days of Moto 2 and MotoGP. Our journey together began this year with his arrival in WorldSBKin which he managed to surprise me and further enhance the brand of my company, which has always been close to the automotive world. This led me to want to strengthen and increase the connection established this year. I am happy to be able to add another piece to Pata's continued and constant support to the world of motor and speed”, explains the owner of the fries.
