The Cincinnati Bengals need a solution.
It remains to be seen whether this fix can happen during the team's bye week or is something much bigger for the offseason. Whatever the case, the team fell to 4-7 with Sunday night's loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, and the commentary afterward is certainly interesting.
Bengals head coach Zac Taylor, for example “Significant changes” are not necessary as they would cause the team to panic. He added that “there can still be something special here” with the playoffs not yet out of reach.
When asked about these comments from him As for whether Taylor is right, Burrow simply said, “I hope so.”
Burrow was as dejected as he's ever been, admitting that this is by far the toughest season of his career at every level.
In some ways, Taylor is right – the Bengals continue to play close games against great teams, but stumble into new ways to lose each time. On Sunday night, there were two missed kicks, a broken interception that would have been dropped for a touchdown and other errors.
However, at this rate, the playoffs are almost impossible, and won't really go away. The Bengals are talented enough to stay in games, but it's clear that something is just missing this year.
