The fell short of expectations with a record of 4-7 and many people have their own opinions as to why they didn't play as expected.
But Skip Bayless, known for his strong opinions, knows one thing: Joe Burrow is being let down. Bayless made this clear on Twitter following the Bengals' recent loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.
“Joe Burrow is still the best quarterback in football” although the whole thing was written in capital letters, “and as hard as it gets.” What punishment he took tonight, he just kept jumping up and completing another pass.”
That's high praise from the longtime TV host, and he's certainly right that none of this can be blamed on Burrow. In 11 games this season, he posted a 67.2 completion percentage, 3,028 yards and 27 touchdowns with just four interceptions.
Based on the Bengals' record so far this season, it would be hard to imagine Burrow getting any recognition for the award, but he is playing near – if not at – MVP level, and Bayless is another person who has recognized that.
JOE BURROW IS STILL THE BEST quarterback IN FOOTBALL – AND AS HARDER AS YOU COME. Whatever penalty he took tonight, he kept jumping up and completing another pass.
