Grizzlies forward GG Jackson II has missed Memphis' entire 2024-25 season so far while recovering from offseason surgery to repair a fractured fifth metatarsal in his right foot.
It should be the 1.90 meter tall second-year professional reevaluated three months after his surgery in early September. Memphis apparently did that and believes he needs more time to recover.
According to a Grizzlies announcement (Twitter link), the team expects Jackson to be back on the hardwood in six to eight weeks.
Jackson was selected with the No. 45 overall pick in 2023 out of South Carolina. He moved to a Grizzlies club and then had two straight 50-win seasons, so he wasn't initially expected to make much of a rotational impact. But Memphis was hit hard by injuries last year.

In 48 healthy contests last year, Jackson averaged 14.6 points on .428/.357/.752 shooting splits along with 4.1 rebounds and 1.2 assists. For his efforts, he was named to the 2024 All-rookie Second Team.
This season, despite further injury concerns, the Grizzlies have managed to get off to a much more robust start to the season. Memphis is currently the No. 4 seed in the highly competitive Western Conference with a record of 14-8.
