Were you surprised that Micah Hyde re-signed with the Buffalo Bills?
You're not alone, even if you include those who will now share a locker room with him in Orchard Park.
The Bills (10-2) announced that Hyde had done so on Wednesday. This news comes ahead of Buffalo's Week 14 game against the Los Angeles Rams (6-6).
It's unclear exactly how much playing time the 33-year-old will bring in, but his experienced leadership behind the scenes played a role in the decision to bring him back, according to head coach Sean McDermott.
But it appears that plan was never actually explained to the Bills locker room.
After Hyde's first practice in Buffalo, his teammates were asked about his return. Many were happy to see him and were just as surprised as the rest of us to see Hyde back in the squad.
“I thought he was just here visiting,” offensive lineman Spencer Brown said. “Then later that day someone said he was training and I thought, 'Oh, he's on the team?' Impressive.'”
“He’s really a good person,” defensive end Greg Rousseau said. “It felt like he never left.”
A recap of reaction from the Bills' locker room is below:
