Buffalo Bills Josh Allen says teammates stepped up vs Colts

A win is a win.

It wasn't pretty, but that won all three phases 30-20 on the road against the Colts in Indianapolis.

Got the job done, although he turned the ball over several times so there was still a lot to improve on.

Few knew this better than quarterback Josh Allen.

“We have to start faster. We didn't give our best today, but we will get the win,” . “Four forced ball losses – we have to keep the ball a little better. We’ll take them as we can get them and turn the page tomorrow.”

Allen finished 23 of 37 for 280 yards through the air and 50 yards on the ground.

He also threw two interceptions, bringing his total to four interceptions in the last three games after getting off to a great start the year he threw none at all in his first seven games.

“People who are dedicated, know their job and their purpose and go out and do things can be cleaner,” he added. “It's me. So again, make sure we communicate well and try again and try to keep the football. And you know, we have to play better on offense.”

With Buffalo playing in front of so many Bills fans in attendance, it was practically a home game in the stands. Buffalo was missing receivers Amari Cooper and Keon Coleman. Their scoring drive came on field goals from kicker Tyler Bass, along with rushing touchdowns from Allen and running back James Cook, and a pick-six interception from corner Taron Johnson.

“Just all hands on deck,” head coach for the press aftermath. “I mean, what else can you say? I would say (offensive coordinator) Joe (Brady), the (offensive coaching) staff, they didn't bat an eyelid. They just kept trying to adapt. I thought the communication from the entire staff at halftime was great.”

This comes before one of their biggest challenges of the season next Sunday, a home game against the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs at Orchard Park.

For four consecutive games and more The Bills have scored 30 or more points in seven of their 10 games this season, which could matter next week against a Kansas City team that has scored that many points only once this season.

The win over the Colts was the Bills' first in Indianapolis since 1998, their fifth straight, and they improved to 8-2 overall, their best start since 1993.

And they might have been 9-1 if not for the control of tactics and playcalling toward the end of the club's game against the Houston Texans.

Still, things remain in perspective for Allen.

“It's great to get eight wins in ten games. There's still a lot of time left in the season, so we don't really see it that way. It’s just starting with the next one.”
