Cowboys select Michigans Kenneth Grant in 2025 mock draft

Lightning can't strike the same place three times, right? After getting burned twice in the last 10 years when they used their first-round pick on a Michigan product, that is Dallas Cowboys I wouldn't go there again. Would you?

Well, that's the case with the latest 2025 First Round Mock draft conducted by our friends at DraftWire. They project Dallas to go with the 11th overall pick in the first round, leaving the Cowboys to take another look at Wolverine with an intriguing selection DT Kenneth Grant in their latest mock.

The Cowboys are currently ssitting at No. 13 following the week 13 action.

Dallas obviously didn't get a quality return on investment by selecting DE Taco Charlton in 2018 and selecting DT Mazi Smith in 2023. At least not yet with the latter. Smith has improved over the last month or so and is trying to move away from the “potential bust” assessment. But neither should really be considered beyond “bad luck” talk when it comes to how the Cowboys should move forward in 2025.

Grant appears to be a one-gap nose tackle. At 6-foot-3 and 339 pounds, he took over for Smith in the middle of the Wolverines' defensive line. He has recorded 5.5 sacks over the last two seasons. A to Z Sports compared him to DJ Reader of the Detroit Lions.
