It's a game that virtually no one gave Dallas a chance to win. The 3-7 Cowboys were in free fall, losing five of their last five and were on their way to a top-10 draft pick. The Commanders entered the game 7-4 with an eye on the playoffs and a shot at the division. It was supposed to be a mismatch and snoozefest, and for most of the day it was as boring a game as the NFL.
Neither team looked good enough for the postseason on Sunday afternoon. The first half in particular was an ugly exercise. Mistakes and unforced errors dominated the day as both offenses faltered early and the teams entered halftime tied 3-3. But things soon took off and chaos ensued as the game's 54 points were scored in the second half.
After a 34-26 win, the Cowboys learned a lot from Week 12, but not all of them are positive.
