The New England Patriots will face the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, and there is one particular defensive player the Patriots could use on their roster.
That player would be Colts linebacker Zaire Franklin, who is this week's pick for Gimme Him.
Franklin has 123 tackles this season with two forced fumbles, one sack and one interception. He has been a consistent playmaker for the Colts and his most recent outing was a 13-tackle performance against the Detroit Lions.
The veteran defender is a tackling machine with 100 total tackles in each of his last three seasons, including 179 tackles, the highest of his career in 2023. He is also a workhorse and playmaker, having completed 100 percent in two of the last three seasons Snaps has played seasons.
The Patriots could utilize his experienced leadership at a linebacker position that is missing team captain Ja'Whaun Bentley, who suffered a season-ending pectoral injury in September. Franklin would bring stability to a Patriots defense that hasn't been consistent all year.
New England has several holes and the linebacker position would be a good place to start. Franklin would be the key figure that would strengthen not only the position, but the entire defensive unit as a whole.
