How do Giants fare entering Week 11

The New York Giants reached a new low on Sunday in Munich when they lost 20-17 in overtime to the struggling Carolina Panthers.

Big Blue has now lost five games in a row and has the worst record in football at 2-8. If the season ended today, they would go No. 2 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft. It goes without saying that some seats get quite warm.

As Week 11 begins, here's a look at where the Giants rank in a variety of power rankings.

Nate Davis, USA TODAY:

Sunday's loss in Germany was their first defeat on foreign soil, although the G-Men remain 3-0 in the United Kingdom – where QB Daniel Jones may be expected to apply for citizenship.

Barry Werner, List Wire:

The Giants went to Munich and gave the game to the Panthers in overtime due to a fumble. They have lost five times in a row and are hopeless. It's time to step up scouting for the 2025 NFL Draft.

NFL Nation, ESPN:

(Dexter Lawrence) is second in the NFL with 9.0 sacks despite playing the majority of his snaps at nose tackle. That's just not normal. Even when Lawrence doesn't get to the quarterback, he wreaks havoc by getting pushed into the middle of the defense. And he manages to do this despite being double-teamed in 74.2% of snaps, the highest in the league. He would probably be a serious candidate for Defensive Player of the Year if he played on a better team.

Vinnie Iyer, The Sporting News:

The Giants often get in their own way. They've shown promise at times with Daniel Jones working with freshmen Malik Nabers, Tyrone Tracy Jr. and Theo Johnson, but they still make crucial mistakes that aren't helped by a defense that can't stop the run.

Frank Schwab, Yahoo! sport:

This is the lowest point. The Giants have lost five straight and unlike many other teams at the bottom of the NFL, there doesn't seem to be much fight left for New York. They're getting the bye week now and it can't hurt.

Diante Lee, The Alarm Clock:

The Giants have been competitive in each of their last three losses, including Sunday's overtime loss to the Panthers in Munich, but the turnovers are simply too much to bear for a team with no margin for error. quarterback Daniel Jones was no worse on Sunday than what we've seen in recent weeks, but a tipped ball and a dropped pass led to two interceptions in Panthers territory. Starting overtime with a fumble by Tyrone Tracy Jr. was the perfect ending to this chaotic game by the New York offense.

More importantly, can we export some better matchups around the world? Football fans in Germany don't deserve what they saw in Week 10. There is a child who may have become a fan of one of these teams after being allowed to attend a game in person and give a new fan a lifetime of enjoyment. The Giants or Panthers fandom just feels cruel.

Eric Edholm, NFL.com:

The Giants have lost five straight games and started Week 11 2-8, matching that record for the third time since 2019. In both 2020 and 2021, they were 3-7 in their first ten games. They've been down before, but this year the Giants are 0-5 at home and lost Sunday's Germany game to the Panthers, one of the few teams not to do so until recently Was below New York in the NFC standings. No longer. Big Blue and Carolina both started Week 10 at 2-7; Now the former sits firmly at No. 16 in the conference's playoff pecking order and faces some big questions, most notably regarding the status of QB Daniel Jones. The biggest shame of the overtime tragedy was that Tyrone Tracy Jr.'s strong performance was marred by his OT fumble. He's been one of the Giants' few good players lately.

Ben Rolfe, Pro Football Network:

At this point, the New York Giants should make every decision based on what gives them the best chance of losing. They almost certainly won't make the playoffs regardless of who is under center. New York's best hope is to get the best possible draft pick so they can draft a new quarterback or trade for one.

The offense is so bad right now that a top-12 defense can't carry this team to wins. Daniel Jones has moments that remind you why he was picked in the first round, and then there are moments that make you wonder if he's ever played the sport before.

The Giants know the answer at quarterback and now have eight weeks to figure out whether the head coach and general managers are the right men to lead the rebuild.
