Does anyone want to play for the New York Giants these days?
I'm sure there are some, but based on the analysis, almost every player who leaves the team – either of their own accord or by choice – seems to think they're doing better.
The Giants recently released cornerback Nick McCloud in a strange move that, as it turns out, has to do with the cap. He was signed by the San Francisco 49ers this week and signed to their practice squad.
McCloud was a key contributor on defense and special teams, but injuries forced the Giants to make changes to their roster, and McCloud was brought back last offseason as part of a one-year, $2.985 million restricted free agent tender became expendable as Big Blue was in retreat against the salary cap.
Like most players who have left the Giants, they feel liberated. Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton commented on McCloud's social media page, apparently calling him a “free man.”
The released DB Nick McCloud last week and has since signed with the exercise group.
His former Giant teammate Darius Slayton, whose name has been cropping up in trade talks for over a year, commented on “a free man.”

There has been a lot of talk this year about how general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll have handled personnel changes.
That didn't go unnoticed in the locker room. The defeat didn't help. The trade deadline passed without the team making any moves, but that wasn't for a lack of trying.
Still, Slayton's comment wasn't what it seemed. While McCloud and others are indeed having more success outside of East Rutherford, it turns out the veteran receiver had no comment on the Giants' situation.
The young thug is “a free man,” pictured on the fourth slide. The only thing Nick has been freed from is being my locker mate and having to listen to me talk nonsense about ND every week 😂😂

And that's why viewers shouldn't be so quick to interpret every comment.
