The New York Jets lost again and in a very “Jets” way.
The Seattle Seahawks (7-5) won one at New York (3-9) in Week 13. This happened even though the Jets had a big lead early and through the first three quarters of the game…and New York was coming off a bye.
All in all, the defeat was tough and caused a lot of emotions in the dressing room.
running back Breece Hall, who fumbled twice in the outing, blamed the loss on his own shoulders.
“It is what it is. Like I said, it sucks. I feel like I lost the game,” Hall said. “I feel like this year has been the most stressful of my life.”
On defense, cornerback Sauce Gardner didn't perform as poorly as Hall. Professional football focus ranked Gardner as New York's best defender in the competition with an overall grade of 90.1.
Still, the entire year was tough for Gardner. It wasn't his best which caused some of these emotions to come out during his life Post-game interview.
“I don’t think I’ve ever hit a 3-9 mark in my time as a soccer player. So this is a feeling I’ve never felt before,” Gardner said. “We had big ambitions.”
Fortunately (or perhaps unfortunately), Hall and Gardner will have a few more chances to succeed on the field before the end of the 2024 season, starting with a visit to the Miami Dolphins (5-7) in Week 14.
