In true New York media fashion, there have been a few fools in the headlines surrounding Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers this season.
Recently, some have divided his short-term future into two different categories: bench or injured reserve.
Neither will happen at this time, but it's worth knowing what was said.
According to a report it was said that team owner Woody Johnson wanted to put Rodgers on the bench Surfaced in early 2024, the team denied that any of these thoughts ever took place. Most recently, interim coach Jeff Ulbrich said there were “absolutely” no such discussions.
As for the injury, things got interesting. Rodgers disputed another report that said he refused to undergo medical tests that could have revealed an injury.
During his weekly appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show,” Rodgers added that he would “never voluntarily” go on injured reserve unless necessary.
On the other hand, Ulbrich said it was “news for him” when he was first asked about a “refusal” from Rodgers to have scans done.
Just another chapter for the 2024 Jets (3-8) – who will continue their campaign against the Seattle Seahawks (6-5) on Sunday at MetLife Stadium.
