Austin Seibert placed on IR

The Washington Commanders will be without their main kicker for the next four games. On Tuesday, the team placed Austin Seibert on injured reserve, ruling him out for at least the next four weeks.

Seibert was dealing with a hip problem but returned Sunday against the Cowboys. He missed two extra points in that game, including one that would have tied the game in the final minute after a miraculous touchdown by Terry McLaurin. He also missed a 51-yard field goal.

Those were Seibert's first two missed PATs this season, and he has now missed four field goals this year.

The Commanders have Zane Gonzalez on the practice squad and he is eligible to be added to the matchday squad once again after previously filling in for Seibert in two games while he was injured.
