Bobby Wagner Walter Payton Man of Year nominee

Washington Commanders linebacker Bobby Wagner has long been known for his ability to recognize a play and stop it no matter where he is on the field. He is a force to be reckoned with and one that most offensive players dread facing. A Super Bowl champion, nine-time Pro Bowl selection, 10-time All-Pro selection and three-time NFL tackles leader, Wagner has proven to be a nuisance on offense since entering the league in 2012.

But Wagner isn't just an outstanding football player, he's also a huge advocate for mental health reform and social justice. His work in these areas has led to his nomination by commanders 2024 Walter Payton Man of the Year Award.

“Giving back has always been important to me and I never take for granted the opportunity and resources to contribute to our community in any way possible.” said Commanders linebacker Bobby Wagner. “Although I don't normally seek recognition for my work, it is truly a great honor to have my efforts recognized through this prestigious nomination. My goal has always been to inspire others through my work on and off the field, and this recognition reminds me of the many people who continue to inspire me every day.”

The Walter Payton Man of the Year Award is presented annually to a player who demonstrates excellence on the field and is committed to making a positive impact off the field. It is the league's most revered award. Each nominee will wear a helmet sticker beginning in Week 14 and the winner will be announced on February 6 during NFL Honors on FOX and nfl Network.
