ESPN's Adam Schefter said Wednesday that the Commanders will soon get a shot in the arm.
During his weekly appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show,” Schefter mentioned that the farewell will be good for the commanders and something else will help them. Here's some of what he had to say:
“Here’s a little headline. If they come back from their bye after this week, it sounds like Marshon Lattimore will make his Commanders debut in the first game for Washington.”
Commanders CB Marshon Lattimore is about to return after Washington's bye week next Sunday, of all places in New Orleans.

“You saw that they released Emmanuel Forbes, their first-round draft pick, a former first-round pick who was claimed on waivers by the Los Angeles Rams. One of the reasons they released him was because Lattimore came back after saying goodbye.”
“And it looks like he’s planning on playing his first game for the Commanders; What six weeks after trading close? Or five weeks after the trade deadline?”
“We've been waiting for Marshon Lattimore to make his debut, and that will be a little jolt for Washington once he gets past his retirement and gets his Pro Bowl cornerback status.”
“By the way, when they bring Lattimore back next week for his first game as Commander, guess where that game will be? In New Orleans against his former team.”
“What could be better than bringing Marshon Lattimore back for his first game as Commander in New Orleans against the Saints, the team that traded him?”
It's nice to hear that the Commanders are the subject of positive discussion on one of the national shows that bring a lot of attention to the NFL.
