Browns Jerry Jeudy makes NFL history vs Broncos says hed swap his huge stat line for a win over ex team

Jerry Jeudy had a game for the ages against his former team on “Monday Night Football.” Jeudy, the Browns wideout traded from Denver last offseason, torched the Broncos' defense with 235 yards and a touchdown on nine catches.

Jeudy broke Hall of Fame receiver Terrell Owens' 16-year-old record for most receiving yards against his former team. Owens, who played for the Cowboys went for 213 yards against the back then 49ersthe team he broke into with in 1996.

Browns fans were thrilled by his performance, but the mile-high crowd, filled with fans who used to chant his name, was now resounding with “boos.” The 25-year-old encouraged his former home crowd after a series of big plays and spurred the opposing fans on to do more.

Jeudy's efforts may have made history and served as revenge against his former team, but the wide receiver failed to achieve the ultimate revenge of a win. The The Browns lost 41-32 in an offensive shootout that came to the end.

After the loss, Jeudy was asked about the noise from the crowd and he shook it off, reminding everyone what he produced on the field.

“I heard that. That was a lot of boos, wasn't it? … That was a lot of catches, too,” Jeudy said matter-of-factly, later adding that he would trade all of his catches and yards for a win.

He said the game against his team evoked “high emotions” and stressed that “you always want to beat the team you used to play for”.

Jeudy said the Browns “came up short” and they needed to find ways to finish games and win. The loss doesn't eliminate them from the playoffs, but it certainly makes the path much more difficult as they are currently the No. 12 seed in the AFC and only the top seven make it. Their current playoff chances are less than one percent.

Playoff chances are something Jeudy cited after the loss as a reason he would have preferred a check in the win column rather than consigning individual statistics to the history books.

Jeudy's signature play Monday night was his 70-yard touchdown, which came just moments after the Broncos had taken a 10-point lead with a 93-yard touchdown pass Bo Nix To Marvin Mims.

After the long touchdown, Jeudy added a two-point conversion and then had some fun with his former fan base:

Jeudy, a 2020 first-round pick, didn't realize his potential in Denver, but the former Alabama star enjoyed a career rebirth with them Tan since Jameis Winston entered the starting lineup as quarterback.

In Cleveland's last four games, Jeudy caught 25 passes for 379 yards for the Browns, who split those games after losing their last five games. Not bad for a player who Broncos was previously considered unnecessary.

On Monday night, two pick-sixes from Winston (who also made history by setting the Browns single-game record with 497 yards) provided a thrilling conclusion to Week 13.
