The 2024 NFL The regular season is over and it's time for the playoffs. However, for many franchises, it is time to enter offseason mode. Realistically, some of them have already done so – particularly those who have made changes at the head coach or general manager position. And because that's exactly what we do here, we let you know exactly which positions are open and who might be eligible for them.
Instead of searching through the scattered shooting reports on social media, CBSSports.com has compiled all the stories of interest in one place. Below we will track all coordinator, head coach and general manager candidates and indicate where they were interviewed.
The Pats won their final game of the regular season. This landed them with the No. 1 overall pick in the draft. Less than two hours after the game ended, Jerod Mayo was fired after just one season. He was Bill Belichick's hand-picked successor, and it's safe to say the experiment didn't work out as planned.
As it turns out, the Patriots are turning to another of their former linebackers to lead the team, the franchise announced Sunday had hired Mike Vrabel to be their 16th head coach.

Chicago fired Matt Eberflus following the clock management debacle on Thanksgiving Day against the division rival Lions. Interim head coach Thomas Brown had done well as offensive coordinator, but the team has taken another step backwards since he was promoted for the second time this season. The next Bears coach will have the opportunity to work with him Caleb Williams and some talented players on defense, but there is still significant room for improvement on offense.

Dallas Cowboys, head coach
The Dallas Cowboys and Mike McCarthy meet on the eve of an expiring contract decided to separate. This meant a five-year tenure for McCarthy in Dallas, where he posted a 49-34 record in his 84 regular season games. While the club achieved success with three consecutive 12-5 seasons, the postseason success was indicative of what is likely what Jerry Jones is looking for in his next head coach. The Cowboys already have Dak Prescott at quarterback and wideout CeeDee Lamb as the franchise's best player. Defensively, Dallas will look to retain star pass rusher Micah Parsons, so there are some interesting building blocks for whoever the franchise brings in.
What many thought would happen during the season happened less than 12 hours after 2024 ended NFL Regular season: The Jaguars fired head coach Doug Pederson. When he was hired in 2022, Pederson took over a 3-14 team and immediately turned the franchise around, going 9-8 and winning a playoff game before falling on defense Chiefs in the divisional round. The year 2023 also started strong, as Jacksonville was 8-3 in the race for the No. 1 seed in the AFC. However, Jacksonville collapsed down the stretch and missed the postseason entirely. Then came the 2024 campaign, which was largely a disaster. The Jaguars started 0-4, went 2-10 and finished 4-13, despite entering the season with playoff expectations. Yes, Trevor Lawrence injured, but this team wasn't very competitive right from the jump. It was time for a change in Jacksonville, although general manager Trevor Baalke is taking over.

Las Vegas Raiders, head coach
Just two days after the conclusion of 2024 NFL This season, the Raiders fired head coach Antonio Pierce. He took over as Las Vegas' interim head coach for the fired Josh McDaniels after Week 8 of the 2023 season and was given the full-time job for 2024 after the team won five of its last nine games. When he was named interim quarterback, he immediately benched him Jimmy Garoppolo in favor of the Raiders' fourth-round pick Aidan O'Connell. The second-half success was enough for Pierce to get the full-time job, but the team started the season with O'Connell and Gesellen Gardner Minshew As his only quarterback option, he was doomed to underperform. After a 2-2 start, Pierce's Raiders lost 10 straight games from Week 5 to Week 15 before winning two of their final three games of the season to finish 4-13. General manager Tom Telesco, who like Pierce was hired last offseason, is taking over.

New Orleans fired Dennis Allen in early November, after the team's seventh straight loss. Former special teams coach Darren Rizzi served as interim head coach, and the team actually went 3-4 with Rizzi at the helm. As always, the Saints still have a lot of work to do to stay within cap compliance this offseason, and it looks like they may finally be entering rebuilding mode.

Tennessee Titans GM
The Titans, who finished the season 3-14, separate paths with general manager Ran Carthon on Tuesday. The team will retain head coach Brian Callahan but will begin a search for a new GM led by president of football operations Chad Brinker. Carthon spent two seasons at the position, with Tennessee posting a 9-25 record during that time. Whoever the Titans select will have a say in who the team selects with the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming draft.

Las Vegas Raiders, GM
On Thursday, the Raiders announced the firing of general manager Tom Telesco, a move that comes two days after firing head coach Antonio Pierce. Las Vegas, no stranger to change in recent years, will once again have two positions to fill this offseason. Telesco spent just one season as GM and disappeared after the team's 4-13 season. Telesco was GM of the Chargers from 2013 to 2023.
